The Y Factor!
Palatine Private Equity is celebrating as Johnathan Massey won the coveted title of the Manchester Y Factor 2010, the charity singing competition for Manchester professionals.
He delivered a stirring rendition of “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams to a 400 strong crowd at nightclub Pure in Central Manchester.
Sporting sunglasses and Robbie tattoos Massey got the show off to a great start. The organisers from the charity Mencap were counting the donations overnight and expect to announce the final tally shortly.
The decision was reached via an audience vote and votes from the judges who were comedian and host of Key 103’s afternoon show Justin Moorhouse, TV and radio presenter Terry Christian and Manchester vocal coach Jo Price.
Supporters can still contribute to this year’s Y Factor which is aiming to raise over £35,000 for Mencap, which helps to support the 200,000 children and adults with learning disabilities across the North West. The charity fights to change laws and services, and to provide better access to education, employment and leisure facilities, supporting many thousands of people with a learning disability to live full and valued lives.
The Y Factor win follows a busy week for Palatine which has also completed the successful sale of XLN and the seventh bolt-on acquisition for Hallmark Hotels.
Johnathan Massey, Business Development Director, Palatine, commented: “It was a fantastic evening, it is one of the best things I have ever done, I really, really enjoyed it. Thank you to all the people who voted for me and supported me. Winning was a bonus, raising money for Mencap was the ultimate aim and if I can do that by not doing anything strenuous I’m all for it!”
